Good Morning!

Remembering a little about SWOT - strengths-opportunities-threats.

STRENGTHS: It is related to the advantages that your company has over its competitors. Not only about the product, but in general. To help define the Forces, some questions can be asked:
- The product is different from others? Have greater competitive advantage? (Obviously we always find our best product, but be sincere in these responses)
- The price is competitive?
- Product quality is better?
- The company is capitalized?
- The distribution is more efficient?
- The aftermarket is efficient?
- The staff knows what sells?
- The controls are satisfactory?
Try to work out all the questions about your business and check points which make the company be more competitive advantage.

WEAKNESSES: Weaknesses of a company is directly related to her disadvantage. The same questions that were asked for FORCES can be made to define this step. Generally, it takes a while to "digest" a weakness when it is detected and no one had seen before. Therefore, at this stage the sincerity of analysis is essential.

For example, sometimes the index of problem solving after-sales department is great, but customer satisfaction does not track this index, meaning that your company obviously has a weakness in service after the sale, probably solves problems customer in a different way and he would not even know it.

After analyzing their own environment, it's time to analyze what happens to your back to point out the Opportunities and Threats.

OPPORTUNITIES: Is everything that positively influences the company, but you have no control over the action. Examples are government action in any sector, economic indices and any other facts that directly influence the market performance of the company. Coworking in the business of, for example, the "real estate boom" in recent years has raised property prices surging an opportunity for those who want to share the costs of a structure, decreasing them. Another interesting example is the rise of social classes in Brazil, which certainly I brought opportunity to many industries.

To determine the opportunities your company a thorough research on what is happening in the political, economic, social, and demographic context etc and try to correlate the external environment with your company will need.

THREATS: Unlike the opportunities, threats are external to the firm that influence negatively the business environment forces. A threat should always be treated with caution, as it may harm the company not only in its strategy, but directly to your result. A simple example to understand is that a floating exchange rate in Brazil has undergone rapid changes and jeopardized various businesses.

To determine if a threat should be analyzed, as well as the opportunity, the political, economic, social, demographic and environment etc and try to make a further analysis of how that factor could hurt your business. So it will be possible to carry out preventive actions to minimize the impact of the threat on the company.

Certainly, the SWOT Matrix is just one of several existing tools to develop a strategic performance. The larger the number of sources you try to get to prepare their analysis, it will be truer and achieve better results. Again, it is not for me here indicate no source, because the post is based on my own business experience. http://www.cwk.com.br/forças-weaknesses-threats
